Structural Design Mode of Structural Systems
Abstract
The structural design of the members and connections are completed by the structural design codes, and then the structural reliability index, β, of the whole structural system is calculated by the structural design software. In the proposed structural design mode, the β value is the controlled objective to satisfy the minimum β requirement, and the engineers must adjust the sectional size, rebar quantity, and material strength for the members and connections. In the structural design, the specific principles must be listed in the structural design codes or structural load codes, and the engineers can follow the standard procedures to raise the β value of the structural systems.
