中國有二十幾個朝代，其開朝皇帝幾乎都選擇建都在沿海，然而像秦始皇的原諸侯國不在沿海，因而建都在內陸地區是想當然爾的事。中華文化起源於黃河和洛水，其河洛文化確實相鄰沿海不遠。然而，開朝皇帝會建都沿海的真實原因，應該是皇帝飲食無法取得鹹水魚致使。皇帝，並不存在無法取得的物品或食品，沿海方得取得的鹹水魚無法冷凍，以運送進內陸做供應是主要原因。開朝皇帝建都沿海的原因，其實僅僅就是為飲食在做考量。
