In the engineering project, any engineering project can be divided into the engineering design and construction, and the both fields have the different kinds of engineering methodologies with the same engineering background. In the bachelor stage, the fundamental courses of civil engineering should be introduced in the department of construction engineering at least 5 semesters, and the remained 3 semesters should be focused on the fundamental courses of construction engineering. After a graduate obtains his B.S. Constr., he may pursue a M.S. Civil to acquire the professional courses of advanced engineering design. If he cannot obtain a M.S. Civil to apply for a job in the consultant company, he should adopt his B.S. Constr. to apply for a job in the construction company. Once he obtains a M.S. Civil, he may pursue a higher academic degree, including a Ph.D. Math, Ph.D. Civil, Ph.D. Computer, or Ph.D. Constr. in civil engineering, the whole field may need the various developments, and the four primary fields should be the leading indexes to establish a new framework of civil engineering. The professional paths in civil engineering are proposed to establish a new framework of civil engineering.
